It wasn’t until 3 years after my initial (stage 2) breast cancer diagnosis that I started practising mind-based techniques such as meditation, visualisation and affirmations. I had no idea just how important and powerful the mind can be when it comes to health and wellbeing. For example, I knew what ‘the placebo effect’ was, but I had no idea about it’s true power. And once I really understood the placebo effect, I started to realise the importance of using my mind every day to support my own healing. I will write more about these things soon.
